The first time, you sign in with a link from your admin. You choose your own password and link a one-time code app to the account. After that you sign in with password and one-time code.
Who can do this
Anyone who has received an invitation link. The link can only be used once, and it is valid for a limited time.
Before you start
- Have the link from your admin at hand.
- Have a one-time code app on your phone. It is the same kind of app many banks and email services use for two-step sign-in.
Steps
- Open the link. The page Welcome to Elreda shows step 1 of 3.
- Type a password in the field New password and press Continue. Length matters more than complexity: a sentence you remember is better than a short word with symbols.
- Add the key to the one-time code app. Scan the QR code with the app. If the camera is not an option, type the key by hand: choose to add an account in the app, then to enter a key.
- Type the code the app now shows in the field First code from the app and press Done.
Important: The key is shown only this once. Add it to the app before you continue.
Frequently asked questions
It says the link is no longer valid
The link has already been used or has expired. Ask your admin for a new invitation.
The code is not accepted
The code changes every thirty seconds and can only be used once. Wait until the app shows a new code and enter that one.
