The account card shows an account: role, status, when the person last signed in, which ways of signing in the account has and which permissions it holds. It is also where you manage the account when someone leaves, forgets their password or loses their phone.
Who can do this
Anyone with the permission View accounts and roles can see the card. The buttons under Manage the account are shown to anyone with Create and change accounts, and never on your own card.
Before you start
Open Accounts and click the person's name.
Steps
Which buttons are available depends on the account's status.
- If the person has forgotten the password or changed phone: press Reset sign-in. The person is signed out, password and app are removed, and you get a new link to give the person.
- If the person has lost a phone that may still be signed in: press End sessions. The person is signed out on every device and can sign in again as usual.
- If the person leaves: press Suspend the account. The person is signed out at once and cannot sign in. The account and its history remain.
- If the person comes back: press Reopen the account on the suspended account. The person signs in with the same password and app as before.
- If an invitation has not been used and the link is lost: press New invitation. The old link stops working.
Important: If the card says Sign-in from superadmin, superadmin has issued a new sign-in for the account. Whoever opens the link becomes the account. If you do not recognise it, suspend the account.
Frequently asked questions
It says this is the only account that can assign permissions
The system does not let the last active account that can assign permissions be suspended. Give someone else that permission first.
I cannot manage a superadmin account
A superadmin account can only be managed by a superadmin.
